Keegan Bol and Richard Lachlan combined for eight goals Wednesday as the St. Albert Miners extended their winning streak to eight games to start off the senior B season in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.
Bol’s eight-point performance included three goals and Lachlan found the back of the net five times and assisted on two goals as the Miners downed the Edmonton Warriors 12-4 at Go Auto Arena.
The victory was also the 33rd in a row for the defending Presidents’ Cup national champions and the streak started in the second game of the 2016 regular season.
Ryan Davis, Cam Sedgwick, Owen Williams and captain Jordan Cornfield also scored and Gordon Cornfield collected five assists.
Erik Turner, a product of the junior B Tier I St. Albert Crude, tallied twice for the Warriors (9-2).
Sunday the Miners visit the Calgary Raiders at 1 p.m. at Brentwood Sportsplex.
Previous results against the Raiders (0-9) were 17-4 in St. Albert and 15-1 in Calgary.
The St. Albert Canoe and Kayak Club is sending two paddlers to the Canada Summer Games.
Jeremie Bennett, 16, and Jason Watamaniuk, 15, qualified for the 200, 500 and 1,000 metre distances in individual sprint kayaking at last weekend’s provincial trials in Calgary.
The Canada Summer Games run July 28 to Aug. 13 in Winnipeg.
The duo train under head coach Zakaria Mahmoudi on Kirk Lake, located east of Anthony Henday Drive and north of Yellowhead Trail.

The St. Albert Midget A Zone Rams have two games remaining before the playoffs start June 22 in the Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council.
Tonight the Rams play the Saskatchewan SWAT (4-4-1) of Saskatoon at 7 p.m. at George Hughes Arena and Tuesday they host the Sherwood Park Titans (5-4-1) at 8 p.m. at Kinex Arena.
The second-place Rams (5-4-2) are coming off Wednesday’s 10-10 draw with the visiting Parkland Posse (7-3-2), ranked first in the five-team division, after trailing 8-1 halfway through the middle period.
Mathieu Gautier, Bryce Schmermund and Alex Sorochan tallied twice and Jackson Ganton, Kolby Nestor, Ronin Pusch and Jack Rainault added singles.
The first win for the Rams after a pair of losses was 8-6 against the Edmonton Warriors (3-8) Monday at George Hughes Arena.
The feisty affair featured a couple of fights at the 11:12 mark of the second period.
The Rams were led by Gautier’s hat-trick and pair by Sorochan. Ganton, Nestor and Schmermund also scored.
The St. Albert Orioles finished first overall in the annual Northeast Zone peewee baseball tournament last weekend in Edmonton.
In the final, the Orioles out-slugged Legal 12-11 to finish 4-0 in the 18-team competition.
Ethan Wilson of St. Albert finished four shots behind the leader in the peewee boys’ division at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour provincial series stop in DeWinton last weekend.
Wilson, 12, shot rounds of 86 and 75 for a second-place score of 161 at the Cottonwood Golf & Country Club.
The winner was Jaiden Koonar, 12, of Calgary at 157 (82-75).
Cayden Clark, 14, of St. Albert also placed 13th in the bantam boys’ division at 167 (81-86).
Thomas Sluka, 13, of Calgary was the division leader at 146 (72-74).
