The St. Albert Tigers host a game Friday during the Sunburst Baseball League’s tournament weekend.
The first pitch against the Sherwood Park A’s (4-1) is 8:30 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
The rest of the tournament will be played at Henry Singer Park in Spruce Grove.
The Tigers have games scheduled Saturday against the Parkland White Sox (0-5) at 7 p.m. and Sunday against the Red Deer Riggers (3-0) at 10 a.m. and Confederation Park Cubs (1-2) at 1 p.m.
The tournament games count in the Sunburst standings.
The Tigers are 3-3 after defeating Parkland 4-3 in 12 innings Sunday in St. Albert.
Mat Brisson doubled home Darren Adams with nobody out to win the game.
Adams led off the 12th with his second single of the night.
Brandon Barr belted a solo homer in the fifth to knot it at three.
Power-hitter Jessy Beley batted 2-for-5 with one RBI and Dan Curtis also drove in a run.
Brad Macuch pitched the last four innings for the win and struck-out three while giving up two hits and walked one.
Starting pitcher Craig Tomas tossed a seven-hitter over eight innings. He fanned seven, walked one and two of his three runs were earned.
Meanwhile, the annual Tigers Baseball Association tournament starts June 24 at 7 p.m. and the eight-team draw ends June 26 with the final at 2 p.m.
The fourth win in a row for the St. Albert Impact division 2A women was Sunday’s 3-1 decision against FC Magic.
Jessica Royer, Kat Bonnycastle and Kaila Wirth, a U18 trialist, scored against the Magic (1-4) at the ESA Complex. Breanne Murphy was in net.
The first-place Impact (5-1) plays Wind CT (2-2-1) Thursday at 7 p.m. at the ESA Complex.
The St. Albert Soccer Association hosts its annual Timbits Jamboree and Ombrelle Active Start Soccer Fest this weekend.
The season windup event goes rain or shine at Riel Park.
SASA is expecting a crowd of more than 2000 over the two days.
Friday’s jamboree for U4, U5 and U6 players runs from 9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and Saturday’s soccer fest for U8 players is 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Both days kick-off with 30-minute fun games for the players.
The senior B St. Albert Miners remain undefeated after their sixth win in a row in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.
The Miners improved to 6-0-1 in Saturday’s 18-5 victory over the Calgary Raiders (0-7) at Stu Peppard Arena.
Period scores were 6-2 and 12-4.
Every goal but one by the Miners was scored at even strength and almost every player either found the back of the net or picked up an assist.
The next game for the Miners is Saturday against the Rockyview Knights (7-0-1) at 8:30 p.m. in Airdrie.
The season opener between the Knights, the defending provincial champions, and the Miners ended in a 7-7 draw in St. Albert.
Saturday the Miners visit the Calgary Mountaineers (2-2-1) at 4 p.m. at Stu Peppard Arena.
The Miners are hosting the eight-team Presidents’ Cup national championship, Aug. 29 to Sept. 4 at Leduc Recreation Centre.
