Third place was the order of finish for the Paul Kane Blues at the 14th annual Mike Dea Classic.
Tyler Wise drained 20 points and Peter McKay wired three three-pointers in Saturday’s 68-55 playoff win over the Western Canada Redmen of Calgary at St. Francis Xavier High School.
McKay finished the game with 13 points and Brandon Best had nine. Adam Sturgess grabbed 11 rebounds, including six on defence.
In Friday’s semifinal the Bishop O’Byrne Bobcats of Calgary rocked the 2011 Metro Edmonton Premier Conference champions 92-66. The Bobcats outscored the Blues 23-10 in the first quarter and led 47-25 at halftime.
Wise and Hyrum Sutton sank 14 points apiece and Des Anderson added 12.
The Blues finished their first tournament of the season with three wins and one loss.

The St. Albert Sabres play their third game in six days tonight, when the bantam AAA team hosts the SSAC Southgate Lions at 7:45 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.
The Lions (14-1-2) are first in the nitro division and the Sabres (10-3-35) are ranked third overall.
Last weekend on the road the Sabres settled for 3-3 ties against the Camrose Vikings (10-6-3) and Leduc Oil Kings (9-5-3). Sunday at home the Sabres rallied for a 3-2 win against the Lloydminster Heat (14-3-1). Curtis Peck, Matteo Gennaro and Thomas Friesen scored and Patrick Dea stopped 35 shots.
Peck and Gennaro share the team lead in points with 25 apiece. Gennaro’s 15 goals are also tops on the Sabres.
