Friday the St. Albert based-NAMLC Crude junior B Tier I lacrosse team hosts the Red Deer Rampage in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League north division final.
Game time is 8:30 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.
Game two goes Saturday in Red Deer, with location and start time to be announced. Game three, if needed, is Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Akinsdale.
In league play the Crude (14-5-1) finished first and the Rampage (13-6-1) placed second in the five-team division.
The teams split the four-game season series, with the Crude winning the last two contests 13-10 and the 12-10 after losses of 9-7 and 8-7 in May.
Erik Turner was the Crude’s top gun with 43 goals and 90 points in only 13 games for second place in the north scoring race.
In the best-of-three north semifinals the Crude defeated the fourth-place Saskatchewan SWAT (9-11) 2-1 in St. Albert. Scores were 13-10 Crude, 10-9 Swat and 11-9 Crude.
The Rampage swept the third-place Edmonton Warriors (9-10-1) 22-14 and 6-4.
St. Albert’s medal contenders for Team Alberta at the Aug. 2 to 17 Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke, Que. are as follows.

The Canada Games will feature 4,200 athletes in 20 disciplines at 20 different venues.
The largest multi-sport competition for young Canadian athletes is held every two years (alternating between the winter and summer Games) in a different province or territory.

St. Albert Impact players Noah Cunningham and Zach Rochat returned home from the Canadian Soccer Association championship all-star tournaments last week in Laval, Que. with medals with their respective Team Alberta squads.
Cunningham, a centre midfielder, played for the U16 silver medallists and Rochat, a right halfback, was a member of the U15 bronze medallists.
The U16 team lost its opening match to British Columbia 2-1, then beat Quebec 2-1 and Saskatchewan/Manitoba 3-0 before losing the gold-medal final 1-0 to Ontario.
The U15 team dropped its first match, 3-0 to Ontario, before defeating British Columbia 3-1, Saskatchewan/Manitoba 4-1 and Team Atlantic 3-2 for the bronze. Rochat scored the second goal against Atlantic with a 20-yard free kick.
Cunningham and Rochat play for the Impact U16 Tier I team.
