All good things must come to an end, including the 10-game winning streak by the St. Albert Cardinals in the bantam AAA provincial seeding round.
Wednesday the Cardinals struck-out 16 times and managed only three hits in the 10-2 loss to SEEBA at Legion Memorial Park.
SEEBA scored four runs in its first at-bat and one was earned.
The Cardinals had a chance to reply in the bottom of the first, but sloppy base running killed a potential rally.
The Cardinals scored their runs in the third on a single by Peter Corrigan.
Jeremy Gamracy, Spencer Dronkelaar and Nate Bryson threw for the home team.
The Cardinals are now 10-1 in the provincial qualifier format and 11-6 overall. SEEBA is 7-2 for an overall 12-3 record.
Today the Cardinals host the Calgary Cubs (4-16) at 12 and 3 p.m. and Sunday the Kooks Dawns Red (4-11) at 10 a.m. and the Sherwood Park A’s (9-8) at 1 p.m.
