The St. Albert Miners are still searching for their first win of the junior A campaign after losing twice on the road last weekend to start the season.

The Miners fell 10-6 to the Calgary Mountaineers and 8-6 to the Okotoks Raiders.

Richard Thompson tallied twice and Ryan Beatson, Spencer Gelinas, Tom Buckley and Brendan Kelly fired singles against the Mountaineers in Calgary.

Period scores were 4-3 and 9-6 for the home team.

Buckley and Nick Farrus netted two goals apiece and Brett Reynar and Thompson also scored against the Raiders in Okotoks.

A range of scores indicating level of performance will be used instead of traditional gymnastics scoring.

Approximately 125 gymnasts, ranging in age from six to 17, are registered.

Sessions are 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The fourth annual Skyhawks Basketball & Volleyball Combo Camp is accepting registrations for the Aug. 26 to 29 session at the SkyDome.
