The St. Albert Impact premier women are winless in five matches after Tuesday’s 2-0 loss to Green & Gold FCM at Riel Park.
The lone victory for the Impact (1-3-2) was their season-opening 4-3 decision against Ital/Inter/Wolves (0-6-1) April 26.
The Impact had settled for two ties in a row before the setback to Green & Gold (5-1-1) in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.
The Impact and Strikers WHPP (0-5-2) hook up at 6 p.m. at the ESA Complex on Sunday.
Mike Thompson booted goals as the St. Albert Impact Rangers blanked Polonia 3-0 in Monday’s division 1A match at the ESA Complex.
Thompson is the team leader in goals with six.
Jon Mark also scored and Daniel Loconte posted the shutout as the Rangers improved to 4-2-1 and Polonia dropped to 0-6-1 in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.
The Rangers play Ajax SC (2-4) Monday at 8:15 p.m. at the ESA Complex.
Noah Boyko’s team-high fifth goal wasn’t enough as the St. Albert Impact fell 3-1 to Southwest United in Wednesday’s division 1B match at Riel Park.
The Impact are 4-2-1 after their second loss in three matches and Southwest is 3-2-2.
The Impact’s next Edmonton District Soccer Association match is Wednesday against Red Hill FC (1-3-2) at 8:15 p.m. at Riel Park.
Wednesday’s division 1B women’s match between the St. Albert Impact and ASC United ended in a scoreless draw at Riel Park.
Alyssa Luczak was in net as the Impact didn’t allow a goal in four contests this season.
The Impact (4-3-1) and ASC (4-2-1) share third place in the Edmonton District Soccer Association table with 13 points apiece.
The Impact are in action Wednesday against the Edmonton Warriors (1-6) at 8:15 p.m. at the ESA Complex.
The sixth win without a loss for the St. Albert Impact division 3A women was Monday’s 7-2 rout of the Lightning Ladies at the ESA Complex.
The division’s highest-scoring team is averaging five goals per win in the Edmonton District Soccer Association. The team leader is Melanie Seidel with six goals after the Impact beat the Lightning (0-5-1).
The Impact line up against S.S. Lazio (3-0-3) at 8:15 p.m. Monday at Rollie Miles Park.
Green Street Elite (GSE) and Chester City go toe-to-toe Sunday for the first time since the 2014 St. Albert Men’s Soccer League final.
Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Riel Recreation Park.
Last year GSE crushed Chester City 7-2 for its third consecutive playoff cup in the team’s four-year history.
GSE also captured its first regular season pennant while going 15-1-1 overall.
This year GSE is 5-0 (12 GF/two GA) and Chester City is third at 2-1-2 (10 GF/seven GA) in the seven-team table.
Brandon Kinley of GSE is the Golden Boot frontrunner with seven goals and Todd Watson is Chester City’s top scorer with three goals.
