The SAMSL all-stars are comprised of players from the following eight teams:

Forest Park Rangers (12-1-1): Craig Cameron, Amrit Saraf, Terry Esposito, Rylan Durocher and goalkeeper Matt Bergin.

Impact Alumni (8-2-1): Sam Simonson, Alex Sinclair, Adam King and Jakob Beauchemin.

DV Youngmen (4-5-2): Matt Hajek.

LADS FC (2-7-2): Brendan Woodland.

Misfits (0-11-1): Bryn Hardon.

Last year the Impact prevailed on penalty kicks after a 1-1 result in regulation time.

This year the Impact (7-2-3) are battling FC Fizi (8-2-2) for first place and the top two finishers receive division one promotions next year and they also qualify for the Tier II provincial playdowns starting Aug. 14.

In league play, the Impact posted identical 1-1 scores against Fizi last weekend and Steaua/Redhill (1-7-4) Tuesday at Riel Park.

Sam Smith-Ackerl scored both markers and the goalkeepers were Justin Ammar against Fizi and Kurt Steendam against Steaua/Redhill.

Smith-Ackerl is ranked fifth in division scoring with nine goals and Scott Robson is second on the Impact in goals with six.

The Impact's next match is Tuesday versus Strikers HPP (5-5-1) at 6:30 p.m. at Riel Park.

The St. Albert Rangers are within striking distance of a top-two finish in the division 1A men's standings with three must-win matches remaining in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

The fourth-place Rangers (5-2-4) look to gain ground on the teams ahead of them in the division table when they play the last-place Ital-Canadians (0-10-1) Monday at 7 p.m. at the ESA Complex.

Four points separate the Rangers and the division co-leaders – Edmonton Warriors (7-2-2) and Man City (7-2-2) – in the race to secure first or second place for a berth in the Tier I provincial playdowns starting Aug. 15.

The Rangers also face-off against third-place Africana FC (6-2-3) Aug. 9 and the last league game is Aug. 12 against the Drillers (1-5-5).

The Rangers are led offensively by Noah Boyko's nine goals for second spot in division scoring and Will Backhouse has netted six goals.

St. Albert's three Impact premier women's teams have matches on tap in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Sunday the Impact 1 squad plays Hearts United (2-10-1) at 5 p.m. and Tuesday's contest against Impact Premier (10-2-1) starts at 6:30 p.m. at Riel Park.

The last match for Impact 1 (4-9-1) was 6-4 over Dreadnought (1-13) this week in St. Albert.

Brittany Boe, Jenna Klebaum, Jade Deputan, Mia Simon, Melissa Prokop and Amanda Thompson scored for the seventh-place team.

Impact Premier (10-2-1) is third in the division table behind Northwest United (11-1), the defending champion, and Green & Gold (10-1-2) as the teams battle for two provincial berths and a shot at promotion into the Alberta Major Soccer League.

Fifth-place Impact/Inter SC (7-5-2) is also in action Tuesday against Angels Scottish SC 3 (3-11-1) at 8:15 p.m. at Riel Park.

Impact/Inter is looking to rebound from this week's 3-2 loss to Angels Scottish SC 2 (8-6-1) when the host team scored the winner on the final cross of the match.

Alana Mawhinney potted her team-leading ninth goal for second place in division scoring and Isabelle Dobbin notched her eighth of the season.

The next division 1A women's match for the St. Albert Impact is Monday in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. against Rionero (7-4) at Riel Park.

The Impact (2-7-3) are coming off this week's 5-0 loss to the Spruce Grove Saints (6-2-4) at Fuhr Sports Park.

The Impact never recovered after falling behind early against the second-place Saints.

League play ends Aug. 12 for the Impact against the ASC Cyclones (3-7-1).
