Today's quarter-final playoff between the Bellerose Bulldogs and St. Albert Skyhawks in metro Edmonton division two men's soccer kicks off at 4:15 p.m. at Forest Park Field.

The winner plays the W.P. Wagner Warriors (4-1) or St. Joseph Saints (3-2) in Monday's semifinal and the final is next Thursday.

In pool C action, the Skyhawks (3-1-1) posted a 3-1 win over Bellerose (2-2-1) earlier this month.

In the opening playoff round Monday, the Skyhawks won 3-2 over the Lillian Osborne Legends (2-3) and Bellerose was successful 2-1 against the Mother Margaret Mary Storm (3-1-1).

The St. Albert Rangers recorded their first win of the season without any subs in Monday's division 1A match against the Croatia Rijeka/Scona Blues.

The Rangers (1-1-2) hung on for the 3-2 victory despite running out of gas midway through the second half at the Croatia Soccer Club.

The Rangers led 3-1 in the first half as the ageless Marc Tetreau scored on a header off a set piece, Noah Boyko converted a top shelf tap-in on a cross from Will Backhouse and Backhouse's second goal in as many matches was a brilliant solo effort while beating a couple of defenders and the goalkeeper.

Zach Black was rock solid in net against Croatia (1-3) despite a lingering knee injury.

Two days earlier, the Rangers and Man City (2-0-1) played to a 2-2 tie at the ESA Complex as Backhouse and John Paterson found the back of the net.

The next Edmonton District Soccer Association match is Monday against Africana FC (2-2) at 8:15 p.m. at the ESA Complex.

All three St. Albert Impact teams in the premier women's division graced the pitch Sunday in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Impact 1 (2-2) doubled Hearts United (0-2) by a score of 4-2 as Brittany Boe, Melissa Prokop, Megan Algeo and Anne Perrault generated goals at Rollie Miles Athletic Park.

Tuesday's result against Impact Premier (1-2) was unavailable at press time.

Impact 1 and Impact/Inter SC (2-2) go head-to-head at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday at Riel Park.

Impact/Inter SC was in action Tuesday against Angels Scottish SC 3 (1-1) but the score was unavailable at press time.

On Sunday, Impact/Inter SC lost 3-1 to Victoria (1-1) and the goal scorer was Abbey Pagee.

Sunday's contest against Hearts United starts at 6:30 p.m. at Foote Field.

Impact Premier has a Tuesday date with Angels Scottish SC 2 (0-2) at 8:15 p.m. at Riel Park.

The St. Albert Impact division 1A women's team suffered consecutive 1-0 losses in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

The Impact (0-2-1) were shutout by the Wind (1-1) Saturday at the ESA Complex and FC Excelsior (3-0) Monday at Riel Park.

Brittany Purkis came close to scoring the equalizer against Excelsior with a great strike that just missed wide of the far post.

Miranda Klein was strong in net in both matches.

Up next for the Impact are the ASC Cyclones (0-2) Saturday at 8 p.m. at the ESA Complex and the Spruce Grove Saints (2-0) Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Riel Park.

St. Albert Impact division 2A men's team is back on the pitch Saturday in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

It's a noon kick-off between the Impact (2-0) and FC Fizi (1-1) at Queen Elizabeth High School.

The Impact's last match was Tuesday against Riverpool FC (1-1) but the score was unavailable at press time.

The Impact's top scorers after two wins were John Kinley, Scott Robson and Sam Smith-Ackerl with two goals apiece.
