The stars will shine bright Aug. 7 during the annual St. Albert Men’s Soccer League all-star game.

Kickoff is 3 p.m. at Riel Park.

The best of the best from Prestige Worldwide (10-0-2), Forest Park Rangers (8-2-2), Chester City (5-7), Magnitude FC (4-7-1) and SA City (0-11-1) will showcase their skills.

The all-star rosters were unavailable at press time.

The SAMSL playoffs start Aug. 9 at Salisbury field and the final is Sept. 18 at Riel Park.

The third-last match in league play for the St. Albert Impact premier women kicks off Tuesday in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Start time is 7 p.m. against the last-place Strikers WHPP (1-12-1) at the ESA Complex.

The Impact (10-5) are battling for third place in the EDSA table after losing 1-0 to the second-place Green & Gold (13-1-1) this week at Foote Field.

Jessica Seutter is the Impact’s top scorer with six goals.

The St. Albert Impact wrap up league play Tuesday in the Tier 4 Virk men’s division.

Kickoff is 7 p.m. against World United FC (5-5-2) at Riel Park.

The Impact have a shot at second place in the Edmonton District Soccer Association table after their 4-1 win over the last-place Puma Old Boys (1-9-2) this week snapped a two-game losing skid.

Gheorghe Ruicea tallied twice for a division-high 16 goals on the season.

Scott Robson potted his 11th goal and Cameron Roth also scored at Riel Park.

The first-year EDSA team displayed textbook ball movement and passing and another positive was the play of centre-back David Gutenberg and fullbacks Ben Watts and Cole Zmurchik.

The last home match of the season for the St. Albert Impact division 1B men’s team is Wednesday against SWU PU.

Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Riel Park.

The Impact are 3-2-7 and SWU is 5-5-1 in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

The Impact are coming off a 2-2 draw against the Scona Blues (3-5-4) this week at Riel Park.

Alan Smith scored both goals in the hard-fought affair as the Impact dominated possession in the second half to earn the tie.

Impact standouts included Henry Jeong and Riju Roy.

Chelsea Fitzgerald and Hallee Peter racked up four goals apiece for the St. Albert Impact division 1B women in Wednesday’s blowout at Goldstick Park.

Caitlyn Seguin, Emily Pavelich and U18 call-up Abbey Pagee also found the back of the net in the 11-0 drubbing of the last-place Wind/Heat (0-13-1). Between the posts was Ashley Chaput.

Fitzgerald is the runaway division scoring leader with 13 goals.

The Impact (7-3-4) have two matches left to secure one of the top two spots in the Edmonton District Soccer Association table.

Wednesday the Impact hosts the first-place Sherwood Park Phoenix (8-3-3) at 7 p.m. at Riel Park.

The St. Albert Rangers must win their last division 1A match of the season in hopes of finishing second in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

The Aug. 8 kick-off is 7 p.m. between the third-place Rangers (7-4-2) and eighth-place Rising Stars (3-7-3) at the ESA Complex.

The Rangers lost ground in the race for second place in the 3-0 setback to African FC (7-3-3) this week at the ESA Complex. One point separates the two teams in the EDSA table.

Will Backhouse is third in the division scoring race with nine goals and Noah Boyko is tied for sixth with five goals.
