The St. Albert Impact Rangers kick-off their division 1A men’s fixtures in the Edmonton District Soccer Association today against Sherwood Park Karpaty.
Start time is 2 p.m. at the ESA Complex.
Monday the Rangers play Man City at 6:30 p.m. at Victoria High School.
Last year the Rangers finished third with a win/tie/loss record of 7-3-4 and a goals for/against of plus 11.
The season opener for the St. Albert Impact premier women is Sunday against the Angels Scottish SC.
Kickoff is 4 p.m. at the ESA Complex.
Tuesday the Impact and Xavier Academy tangle at 7 p.m. at the ESA Complex.
The Impact placed sixth last year with six wins, four ties and eight losses and a plus/minus of minus 13 in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.
In the indoor season, Brittany Kindzierski scored a league-high 23 goals as the Impact finished second in premier at 12-2-2.
The Bellerose Bulldogs and St. Albert Skyhawks kick-off the metro Edmonton high school division two pool B fixtures next week at Riel Park.
Game times are 4:15 p.m. Monday for the men and Tuesday for the women.
Last year’s records for the men were 1-3-1 for Bellerose and 3-1-1 for the Skyhawks.
The lady Skyhawks are the defending division two champions after going 9-0 last year. They won the division two consolation final in 2014 and lost the 2013 division two final.
The lady Bulldogs finished 3-2-1 last year.
The Paul Kane Blues also have division two pool B matches on tap next week at 4:15 p.m. The Paul Kane men visit the Eastglen Blue Devils and the lady Blues play at Ross Sheppard.
Paul Kane was 3-1-2 in the men’s league and the only loss was in the division two semifinal against the Queen Elizabeth Knights.
The record for the lady Blues was 2-3-1.
FC Edmonton Academy, listed as the St. Albert Impact in the premier men’s division in the Edmonton District Soccer Association, kicks into action Monday against Juventus.
Game time is 6:30 p.m. at the ESA South Centre.
The premier team won nine and lost nine with a plus/minus of plus six last year for fifth place after losing only one match in 2014, a 3-0 forfeit in the season opener, as the EDSA and Alberta Soccer Association champions.
It was FC Edmonton Academy’s first year as the St. Albert Impact after buying the Impact 1 team’s spot in premier before the start of the 2014 EDSA campaign.
The St. Albert Impact division 2A women host Wind CT in Thursday’s season debut in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.
Game time is 7 p.m. at Riel Park.
Last year’s EDSA champions and Alberta Soccer Association Tier 3 gold medallists ended the outdoor campaign at 17-1-1 after placing first in the EDSA division 3A table at 13-1.
Jacey Carroll’s team-high 19th goal was the overtime winner in the provincial final against the Chinook Rogues of Calgary.
Carroll ranked third in league scoring with 15 goals. Chloe Schmaltz and Melanie Seidel also finished top 10 with nine and eight goals, respectively.
