The St. Albert Impact division 3A women can punch their ticket to the Tier 3 provincials with a victory Wednesday in the Edmonton District Soccer Association playdowns.

Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. at the ESA Complex against the winner of today's match between Royals FC (10-2-2 in division 3C) and the Brew Crew (12-1-1 in Tier 4 Atterbury).

The Impact are seeded first in the playdowns after going 14-1 in the division 3A fixtures with a goal differential of plus-54 (66 GF/12 GA) as the top team overall out of 32 division three squads.

A win would also put the Impact in the Aug. 24 playoff against Belmead Rebels/Araqiel (13-1 in division 3D) or the Riverbend Ruckus (11-1-2) to determine the No. 1 and No. 2 EDSA teams at provincials, Sept. 4 to 6 in Calgary.

The Impact's last match before the playdowns was Monday's 4-1 win over S.S. Lazio (7-2-5) at Riel Park.

Cat Korotash and Natalia Rudolf, a trialist from the Impact U18 Tier 3 team, scored two goals apiece and Nicole Schlemko was in net.

Jacey Carroll's 15 goals in only nine matches ranked tied for third in the division 3A scoring race.

Chloe Schmaltz also posted nine goals and Melanie Seidel had eight for the Impact.

The team's 20-player roster includes nine returnees from the 2014 division two outdoor season.

In the fall the Impact move up into division one for indoors after finishing first in division two during the 2014/15 winter campaign.

League play ends Tuesday for the St. Albert Impact premier women in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Kickoff is 7 p.m. between the Impact (6-7-4) and Strikers WHPP (4-9-3) at the ESA Complex.

The Impact are ranked sixth in the premier table after giving up two goals in the second half in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to Green & Gold/FCM (14-2-1) at Riel Park.

The Impact's last win was 5-3 over third-place Victoria (12-2-3) Sunday at the ESA Complex. It was 3-1 Impact at halftime.

Christina Malbrecht tallied twice, marking the seventh match in a row she scored while alternating between the premier and Impact division 1B teams.

Shannon MacGillivray, Brittany Boe and Kirsten Marshall netted singles.

Mike Thompson scored the only goal for the St. Albert Impact Rangers in Monday's season-ending loss in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Thompson's line shot in the 2-1 setback to the Rising Stars (2-5-7) at Riel Park equaled Marc Tetreau's team-leading eight goals.

The loss was the third in the last five matches for the Rangers (7-4-3) to close out league play.

The St. Albert Impact and ASC United battled to a 2-2 draw Wednesday to wrap up the division 1B women's fixtures in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Kat Bonnycastle cracked a beauty from 24 yards to kick off the scoring at Riel Park and ASC tied it at the midway point in the first half.

The Impact regained the lead on a brilliant individual effort by Jess Royer before the break.

ASC pulled even halfway through the second half.

The Impact (8-5-3) finished fourth in the division, two points back of ASC (9-5-2).
