To The Lacombe Lake Tim Hortons Gift Card Angel:
I could write a long letter listing the reasons why what happened Victoria Day Monday morning was so special. But let's just say that random acts of kindness are beautiful and inspiring and I will continue to pay it forward.
I was walking my dog in Lacombe Park that morning around 7 a.m., very tired and working hard to not be grumpy. I was working hard on appreciating the birds and the trees and the beautiful sky, albeit not altogether successfully, when I noticed what appeared to be some garbage in a tree.
I have to admit at first I was upset because quite often people just drop their empty coffee cups, etc. on the ground out there and the rest of us are left to pick it up (it's not a lot of effort to walk over to the various garbage cans that are provided and place your garbage inside) so I walked over to pick up said piece of trash, when I noticed some writing on a Tim Hortons gift card holder that says "Enjoy a coffee on me" and inside is a gift card to Tim Hortons.
Now for a coffee lover who has not yet had coffee and, as I said, working hard on appreciating the day, suddenly that became very easy. My whole week was of sharing that story and I am renewed in the kindness of strangers and the gift of paying it forward. What a beautiful gesture, and I want to say Thank You.
