Special Olympics St. Albert rolls out the welcome match Sept. 19 for its fall/winter registration drive.
Five-pin bowling, basketball, curling, floor hockey and swimming are the sports offered by Special Olympics St. Albert.
The organization aims to provide year-round opportunities for adults and youths with intellectual disabilities to participate in individual and team sports at the appropriate level of competition.
Registration takes place at the St. Albert Sobeys, from noon to 2 p.m. Forms are to be filled out on site, complete with Alberta health-care number and a guardian's signature, if required.
Forms are also available from Chelsee Pedwell at 780-668-9478 or through www.facebook.com/stalbertspecialo.

Free The Fuzz
Last weekend's Free The Fuzz event at the St. Albert Walmart raised $14,222.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run and Walmart Canada joined forces to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics St. Albert.
It's the sixth Free The Fuzz in Alberta this summer and more than $96,000 has been raised. Law enforcement individuals spent time on scaffolding to show their dedication and commitment to Special Olympics.
Internationally the Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest grassroots fundraiser and awareness vehicle for Special Olympics. Last year more than $560,000 was raised across the province to benefit local programs and provide transportation to competitions.
