The race to the finish line for online registrations is gaining momentum for the Landrex St. Albert Road Race.
The latest tally consists of 312 males and females for the April 23 event presented by Active Physio Works.
The totals include 101 for the historic 32nd annual 10-miler, 49 for the third annual 10 kilometre, 61 for the third annual five km, which replaced the six-km race in 2015, and the remainder signed up for the kids’ one-km fun run.
The road race includes a junior high, high school and run club component.
The online registration deadline is April 21 through www.zone4.ca.

Proceeds from the road race will help support You Can Ride 2, a learn-to-ride free, accessible program that teaches children with special needs or coordination challenges how ride a conventional two-wheel bicycle.
The start/finish line is on Sir Winston Churchill Avenue in front of the curling club, the event headquarters. The start times are 9 a.m. for the 10-miler, 9:05 a.m. for the 10 km, 9:10 a.m. for the five km and the kids’ fun run goes at 11 a.m.
Last year’s 10-mile champion was William Madsen (20 to 29 age division) of Edmonton with a time of 53 minutes and 24 seconds and the fastest female was Kendall Barker (30 to 39 age division) of Edmonton at 1:06:03 for 13th place overall out of 149 finishers (72 males and 77 females).
This year’s race status for Madsen and Barber was unclear at press time.
Runners in the 10 km, a shortened version of the north section of the 10-miler, and five km go the opposite direction than the 10-milers from the start line.
Jesse Bauer (20 to 29 age division) of Edmonton was the 10-km winner last year in 34 minutes and 34 seconds and Angela Anderson (40 to 49 age division) of Edmonton was the top female at 45:38 for sixth place overall out of 44 runners.
Luke Hanson and Abby Wilson, a pair of Paul Kane High School students last year, repeated as the fastest five-km runners in the field of 49 finishers. Hanson was clocked at 16:19 and Wilson was the first female at 19:37 for sixth place.
