Mission belles
The third belle AA final in three tournaments for the St. Albert Mission was Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Elite in Lacombe.
Brittany Kraychy, Erica Tosto and Marie-Eve Gautier scored as the U19 team finished 3-2 overall at the Central Alberta Sting tournament.
The Elite also beat the Mission 3-2 in the round robin.
The Mission's goal differential in the tournament was 29-18 with the offence spread throughout the roster.
Gautier was the top scorer with six goals and Kate Henderson and Sara DeRose had five apiece.
Henderson led the team in assists with eight and in points with 13. Her twin sister, Lauren, had 10 points.
The Mission also finished second at the Bernadette Price Memorial AA Tournament in Saskatoon and was the top team at the Wood AA tournament in Edmonton.
The Mission are 14-6-1 against U19 AA teams and 18-9-3 overall.
The next tournament is Feb. 6 to 8 in Ottawa.
The Mission are also hosting the U19 provincials Feb. 27 to March 1.
CWG exhibitions
The Alberta and Saskatchewan teams for the Canada Winter Games have two exhibitions scheduled this weekend at Servus Credit Union Place.
Game times are 3 p.m. Saturday at Mark Messier Arena and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Troy Murray Arena.
The Team Alberta roster features three St. Albert players: Kate and Lauren Henderson of the U19 belle AA Mission and Janelle Wilk of the U19 belle AA Edmonton Elite.
The CWG is Feb. 13 to 20 in Prince George, B.C.
Belle showdown
The St. Albert U19 B belle teams in the Black Gold League skated to a 2-2 draw Sunday at Troy Murray Arena.
Madison Dennis and Jordyn Fiedler scored for the B1 Surge and Brittany Stahn and Taylor Pasalic replied for the B2 Rage.
In league play the Surge are 4-5-2 and the Rage are 3-6-2.
Mission juniors
The U17 St. Albert Mission finished the Central Alberta Sting tournament with a 2-3 record for fourth place after Sunday's 5-3 loss to Zone 5 Pack in Lacombe.
Maddie Sanders fired two goals and Mykenzie Howard also scored for the junior team.
In the pool A round robin the Mission defeated the Pack 6-4.
Howard finished the tournament with a team-high five goals and eight points. Anatonia Hood, Katie Shigeta and Sanders chipped in with three goals apiece and Amanda Letourneau collected five assists.
The Mission's overall record is 15-6-1
The Mission are the host team for the U17 provincials Feb. 27 to March 1.
