The St. Albert Mission U16AA juniors qualified for the championship round at the Canadian Ringette Championships in London, Ont.
The Mission finished second in pool D at 2-1-1 and Wednesday defeated Mississauga 7-3 and lost 6-5 in overtime to Calgary Blue.
Thursday’s results against London and Rive Sud determined Friday’s playoff pairings. Scores were unavailable at press time.
Anatonia Hood led the team in scoring in pool play with 10 goals and 13 points in four games, followed by Vail Ketsa with six goals and 12 points and Shahn Yaceyko with five goals and nine points.
The Mission were seeded fourth out of six Alberta teams in the 20-team tournament.

Last year the Mission placed seventh at nationals.
The St. Albert Mission U19AA belles were relegated into the consolation round after going 0-4 in pool play at the Canadian Ringette Championships.
The Mission were outscored 21-9 in the four losses in pool B.
Haley Groenenboom was the team’s top scoring in pool play with four goals and five points. Madison Darda struck three times and Sara DeRose picked up four points.
Wednesday the Mission beat Mississauga 4-3 and London 3-1.
The consolation round continues Thursday and Friday for the Mission, seeded sixth out of six Alberta teams in the 20-team competition.

The Black Gold Rush, a first-year National Ringette League team with several St. Albert Ringette Association graduates on the roster, won their first game at nationals Tuesday in London, Ont.
Molly Chorney of Riviere Qui Barre and Danielle Pronovost of Stony Plain tallied twice and Lauren Henderson of St. Albert and Kaylin Bechard of Spruce Grove also scored in the 6-4 decision against Calgary RATH.
Captain Nikki Andruchow of St. Albert, Pronovost and Henderson also collected two assists apiece.
Lauryn Girard of St. Albert stopped a game-high 29 shots.
The Rush were 1-4 in the eight-team round-robin after Wednesday’s 7-2 loss to Edmonton WAM!
Pronovost led the Rush in scoring after five games with four goals and 10 points. Andruchow posted seven points and Henderson had five.
The top three teams in the round robin advance to the medal finals.
