Tigers at home
Friday the St. Albert Tigers host the Confederation Park Cubs in the Sunburst Baseball League.
First pitch is 7:30 p.m. at Legion Memorial park.
The season opener for the Tigers in the four-team senior AAA circuit was the 6-5 loss to the Cubs on May 20 at John Fry Park.
The home debut for the Tigers last Friday against the provincial champion Sherwood Park Athletics was rained out.
Last year, the Tigers finished 4-14 in the regular season.
Meanwhile, online registration closes Saturday for the annual St. Albert Tigers Camp on June 8 at Legion park.
The camp starts at 10 a.m. and is open to male and female U9, U11 and U13 players.
The $25 fee includes lunch and T-shirt.

Norwest games
The St. Albert Cardinals have three games scheduled this weekend in the Norwest U18 AAA Baseball League at Legion Memorial Park.
Saturday the Cardinals play the East Central Bulls (0-5) at 9 a.m. and Fort McMurray Oil Giants (2-2) at 6 p.m. and Sunday’s start time is 3 p.m. against the Calgary Bandits (7-2).
The Cardinals are winners of six in a row while going 8-1 this season as the defending Tier 1 provincial champions and fourth-place finishers at nationals.
The only loss was 6-4 to the Parkland Twins (9-0) May 9 in Spruce Grove.
U15 baseball
The St. Albert Cardinals fly into this weekend’s homestand undefeated in five games in the Baseball Alberta U15 AAA League.
Saturday the Cardinals (10-2) are up to bat at 12 noon against the Fort McMurray Oil Giants (3-12) and 6 p.m. against the Lethbridge Bulls (3-4).
Sunday’s game times are 9 a.m. against Lethbridge and 3 p.m. against Fort McMurray.
NCABL games
Friday the St. Albert Cardinals visit the winless Parkland Twins in the North Central Alberta Baseball League.
First pitch is 7 p.m. at Henry Singer Ball Park.
Last week’s game between the Cardinals (2-1-1) and the host Westlock Red Lions (1-0-1) was called after one extra inning because of darkness and the score knotted at three.
The next day, the Cardinals lost 1-0 to the NCABL champion Edmonton Blackhawks (1-1) at Legion Memorial Park.
The first batter of the game drew a walk, stole second and scored on a base hit.
The Cardinals gave up only one more hit the rest of the way, but were also up against a tough pitcher as well.
The next home game is Tuesday versus the Edmonton Primeaus (3-0) at 7:15 p.m.
