Tonight's division two women's match between the host St. Albert Rugby Football Club and Nor'Westers kicks off at 7 p.m.

SARFC is fifth and the Nor'Westers are eighth in the 11-team table.

The top six teams qualify for the playoffs.

Friday's 7 p.m. doubleheader at SARFC features the third division men and U18 women and the home teams are ranked first in their respective ERU tables.

A win over the Parkland Sharks (4-4) would secure a first-round playoff bye for the thirds (7-1) with one match remaining.

The winner of the U18 semifinal between SARFC (6-0) and a team to be determined advances to the Aug. 23 final.

The U18 Helen Wright Trophy champion in the ERU qualifies for the Aug. 26 provincials.

Last year SARFC finished 6-1 as the provincial finalist.

Saturday the SARFC premier men's team (6-3) visits the Clan (2-7) at 4:15 p.m. at Airways Park.

The Sunburst Baseball League playoff between the St. Albert Tigers and Red Deer Riggers continues tonight in the best-of-three semifinal.

First pitch is 7:30 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.

Tuesday's score from the series opener in Red Deer was unavailable at press time.

The fourth-place Tigers (3-15, 62 RF/144 RA) are 0-6 against the first-place Riggers (13-5, 148 RF/97 RA) in the four-team senior AAA league.

The winner plays the Sherwood Park Athletics (12-6, 145 RF/99 RA), Sunburst provincial champions the last two years, or Confederation Park Cubs (8-10, 100 RF/121 RA) in the final.

The Tigers haven't won provincials since 2007.

The playoffs kick-off Saturday for the St. Albert Stars in the Alberta Football League.

Game time is 6 p.m. against the Airdrie Irish at Riel Recreation Park.

The Stars (5-3) and Airdrie (4-4) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the nine-team league.

The Stars blanked Airdrie 44-0 during a four-game winning streak to start the season.

Six teams qualified for the playoffs and the first-place Fort McMurray Monarchs (8-0), last year's AFL and Canadian Major Football League champions, and second-place Calgary Gators (7-1) received opening-round byes.

Last year the Stars finished 6-5 after losing 43-23 to the Central Alberta Buccaneers in the semifinals.

The last game for the Stars before the playoffs was the 47-0 loss to the third-place Bucs (6-2) in St. Albert.
