The second annual Marc Kennedy Junior Classic is underway at the St. Albert and Jasper Place curling clubs.
The U18 bonspiel, presented by Sarasota Homes & Realty, consists of 56 rinks in the competitive (28), intermediate (20) and recreational (eight) divisions.
Sunday's finals are 2 p.m. in St. Albert.
The St. Albert Curling Club is represented by 39 males and females from the Little Rock and junior programs.
The St. Albert rinks are as follows.
Competitive: Geary, Molberg, Oake,
Intermediate: Costa, Davis, Graham, Lozinsky.
Recreational: Bakos, Van Amsterdam, Wong.
The registration deadline is April 21 for the Landrex St. Albert Road Race, presented by Active Physio Works.

Proceeds from the event will help support the You Can Ride 2, a learn-to-ride free, accessible program that teaches children with special needs or coordination challenges how to ride a conventional two-wheel bicycle.

Last year's 10-mile winner was William Madsen of Edmonton with a time of 53 minutes and 24 seconds and the fastest female was Kendall Barker of Edmonton at 1:06:03 for 13th place overall out of 149 finishers.

The deadline is April 27 to secure a spot in the five-kilometre walk/run, 10-km walk/run, half-marathon run and WildOnes MaraFun for youths four- to 12-years-old.
As of Wednesday, 647 individuals were confirmed for the half marathon, 10 km, five km and Marafun.
RunWild has averaged 1,850 participants per year since 2011.
The 2016 MaraFun featured 670 youths from 17 schools. Students complete the last 1.6 km of their own 42-km marathon, which started at their schools by running or walking one km at a time leading up to RunWild.
RunWild has also raised more than $365,000 for the Zebra Child Protection Centre and St. Albert Seniors Association.
The 2016 RunWild was restricted to the MaraFun because of the temporary loss of the race headquarters at the St. Albert 50 + Club and construction at the start/finish staging areas that affected the logistics of the routes.
