On Sunday, the North Central Alberta Baseball League will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with a family tailgate party and all-star game at Legion Memorial Ballpark. Local band Mourning Wood will be in attendance providing entertainment. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The St. Albert Pickleball Club will be celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday with 150 pickleball games on Saturday. The fast growing sport combines tennis, badminton, and table tennis into a fast paced and exciting game for all ages. The event is being held at 149 Larose Drive.

The Midget AAA Cardinals are in for a busy week as they play the Sherwood Park A’s Thursday at 7 p.m. at Centennial Park. The Cardinals are 3-0 this season against the A’s. On Friday, they host the Calgary Bandits at 7 p.m. at Legion Memorial Ball Park. They finish off their week with a double header on Saturday afternoon against the Bandits, with the games starting at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the legion.

The Miners (16-0) wrap up their regular season with two games this week. They face off against the Edmonton Sr. Warriors (12-5) at 8:30 p.m. at the Jubilee Recreation Centre and on Friday they play their final regular season game against the Blackfalds Silverbacks (4-12) at the Blackfalds Multiplex at 8:30 p.m. The Miners are looking to complete a perfect regular season before playoffs. The Miners are coming off a 12-8 win over the Outlaws on Sunday.

St. Albert rugby women play Wednesday evening against the undefeated Strathcona Druids (5-0). St. Albert is hoping to hand them their first loss of the season after a strong 72-7 win against the NorWesters (1-4) on Saturday. Match begins at 7 p.m. at the St. Albert Rugby Football Club

The U18 St. Albert girls (2-0) play their next game Monday against the Clan (0-0). St. Albert has had a strong start to their season, outscoring their opponents in the first two games by a combined score of 145-10.
