On Wednesday night the St. Albert women’s premier rugby team will face off against the Strathcona Druids. The sixth place SARFC team will be hoping to thwart the fourth place Druids in their seventh game of the season. So far the St. Albert team has one win, four losses and a tie under their belt. The home team has managed to beat the third place Pirates on June 24. The Druids have stacked up four wins and two losses for the season. The two teams face off at 7 p.m. at the St. Albert Rugby Football Club.
Saturday afternoon will see a matchup between the Leprechaun-Tigers AC and the St. Albert AC. This will be the sixth game so far this season for the two teams. The fourth place St. Albert men’s squad will be looking to scoop up their third win of the season. The eighth place Leprechaun-Tigers AC have only been able to deliver one win so far this year in the second game of the season against the Druid AC. The two teams have already faced off once this year. The home team came out on top with a final score of 33-19 on Saturday June 10. The action between the teams starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the St. Albert Rugby Football Club.
Before the game gets started a pre-game event will be held, starting at 3:30 p.m. St. Albert’s Gareth Jones and Roger Scott are going to be inducted into the Edmonton Rugby Union wall of fame.
The St. Albert Stars are facing off against the Fort McMurray Monarchs on Saturday afternoon. The game fought between the second place Stars and the first place Monarchs will decide who is top dog in the league. The Monarchs have won all five of their games this season and sit in first with 10 points. The Stars are in second with only one loss and are sitting with 8 points. A win in the Saturday game will put the teams tied for the top spot. The game kicks off at 4 p.m. at the St. Albert Football Club.
