The St. Albert Junior Cardinals bring their winning record in the North Central Alberta Baseball League to Camrose on Friday night.
The first pitch is 7:15 p.m. against the Axemen (3-6).
Tuesday the Cardinals (5-3) host the Edmonton Athletics (0-7) at 7:15 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
The last home game was against Stony Plain Mets (7-1) but Tuesday’s score was unavailable at press time.
The Cardinals were winners of three in a row after sweeping Sunday’s doubleheader against the Sturgeon Paladins (1-6) by scores of 12-10 and 13-3 in Bon Accord.
Last year the Cardinals finished at the bottom of the standings at 3-15.
Meanwhile, the NCABL 50th anniversary family tailgate party and all-star game is July 16 at Legion park.
The gates open at 11 a.m. for tailgate registrants with trucks slotted into picnic areas.
At 12:30 p.m. the old-time children’s picnic games begin in the bantam diamond and Mourning Wood will perform on the outdoor stage.
The pre-game festivities start at 2:45 p.m. with the grand entrance by the two NCABL all-star clubs led by a horsewoman carrying a huge Canada 150 flag.
The on-field celebrations include a rendition of Home to Me by Lia Cole, the grand prize winner of St. Albert’s 150 songwriting competition.
The all-star game goes at 3:15 p.m.

The second last home game of the regular season for the St. Albert Crude is Thursday in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.
Ball drop is 9 p.m. against the Red Deer Rampage (11-3) at Akinsdale Arena.
The Crude (4-9-1) are 0-5-1 in their last six junior B Tier I games after Sunday’s 10-8 loss to the Rockyview Silvertips (3-10) at Spray Lakes Centre.
Period scores were 5-3 and 7-6 for the Silvertips.
Keegan Doll, Jesse Ott and Liam Potgieter potted a pair each and Carter McCorriston and Ben Holowaty also scored against the last-place team in the south standings.
The Crude are fifth in the north division with five games left before the playoffs.
Registrations are being accepted for the provincial senior tournament July 13 to 16 at the St. Albert Tennis Club.
The categories are men’s and women’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles for age groups 30 and over.
