Today’s match at the St. Albert Rugby Football Club kicks off at 10:30 a.m. between the host premier women’s team and the Pirates.
Last week the Pirates beat the visiting SARFC side 51-22.
The Pirates (4-1) are second and SARFC (0-4-1) is sixth in the eight-team Alberta premier table.
Both teams moved up into the premier ranks after playing in the Edmonton Rugby Union’s first division last year.
The St. Albert Cardinals start a three-game series against Okotoks Dawgs Black today in the Baseball Alberta bantam AAA league.
Game times are 2 and 6 p.m. and Sunday’s first pitch is 10 a.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
Okotoks is 13-0 and the Cardinals are 11-4.
The St. Albert Junior Cardinals hosts a North Central Alberta Baseball League doubleheader Sunday at Legion Memorial Park.
The twin bill against the Sherwood Park Athletics (1-1) starts at 1:30 p.m.
The Cardinals (1-2) also play at home Tuesday against the Westlock Red Lions (5-1) at 7:15 p.m.
The last game for the Cardinals was rained out Wednesday against the Axemen (1-5) in Camrose.

Last weekend the Cardinals competed in the NCABL-sanctioned Starchuk-Semeniuk Memorial Tournament at Pine Creek Park in Waskatenau. Scores were 7-3 against the Edmonton Athletics and losses of 8-0 to the Waskatenau Memorials and 7-1 to the Cold Lake Cardinals.
Meanwhile, the NCABL all-star game and tailgate party as part of the league’s 50th anniversary celebrations is July 16, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in St. Albert.
The St. Albert Miners started a three-game junior A homestand Friday in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.

Today the Miners (1-10) play the Calgary Mountaineers (9-3) at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday’s game against the Saskatoon-based SWAT starts at 1 p.m. at Go Auto Arena.
The first win after 10 consecutive losses for the Miners was 15-10 over the Blues (2-6) Wednesday in St. Albert.
