The St. Albert men’s rugby teams are rucking and mauling today at Ellerslie Rugby Park.
Kickoff times are 12:30 p.m. against the Pirates (1-2) in the Edmonton Rugby Union third division and 4 p.m. against the Lep/Tigers (1-3) in the Alberta Cup premier division.
Last weekend the St. Albert Rugby Football Club hosted the Nor’Westers and the thirds (3-1) were victorious 59-19 and the firsts (1-2) lost to the undefeated premier squad 57-26.
The women’s division two team in the ERU will also scrum down today against the Rockers (3-0) at 1 p.m. in Leduc.
Last week the St. Albert side won its season opener 63-0 against the Sharks (0-3).
Fastball St. Albert hosts its 20th annual invitational tournament this weekend at the Meadowview and Henry Singer diamonds.
The tournament draw features 49 teams in nine divisions and the schedule consists of 59 games at Meadowview and 48 at Henry Singer.
The St. Albert Angels are fielding 10 teams.
Sunday’s finals are 11:30 a.m. for U12A at Meadowview and U10A at Henry Singer, 1:15 p.m. for U14C, U12 B/C and U10B at Henry Singer and 3:15 p.m. for U16A, U18B, U14A and U14B at Meadowview.

The annual Jeremy Richardson Memorial Baggataway Tournament is underway at Servus Credit Union Place and the Akinsdale, Kinex and Morinville arenas.
The St. Albert Rams Lacrosse Club is hosting the B and C level and female house league tournament and the divisions are tyke, novice, peewee girls, peewee B boys, peewee C boys, bantam b boys, bantam C boys, midget girls and midget B boys.

The 26th annual St. Albert Kids of Steel Triathlon starts 8 a.m. Sunday at Fountain Park Recreation Centre.
A total of 232 triathletes, plus four teams of three people each, are registered for the swim-bike-run competition and the distances vary according to age group and the youngest category is U7.
The race distance for junior elite and U23 is the 750-metre swim, 18.4-kilometre bike and five-km run.
The junior draft legal qualifier for the Canada Summer Games consists of 17 females and 20 males.
The KOS is also the provincial youth (14-15) and junior (16 to 19) championships.
The KOS is hosted by the St. Albert Triathlon Association and sanctioned by the Alberta Triathlon Association.
