The second-last game for the St. Albert Storm before the playoffs in the midget spring league kicks off today at the Clareview turf field.

Start time is 3 p.m. between the Storm (2-2, 145 PF/105 PA) and Edmonton Chargers (3-1, 97 PF/59 PA).

Last weekend, a depleted Storm lineup took it on the chin 59-33 from the Edmonton Seahawks (3-2, 182 PF/102 PA).

The regular season ends May 6 for the Storm against the West Edmonton Raiders (1-3, 72 PF/81 PA) at 8 p.m. at Clarke Park.

The midget division in the Capital District Minor Football Association consists of players in grades 9, 10 and 11.

The Crude Lacrosse Club of St. Albert unveils its 2017 lineup this weekend at Akinsdale Arena.

The junior B Tier I team hosts the Calgary Shamrocks tonight at 8 p.m. and the Red Deer Rampage at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.

Tickets are $5 at the door and a season pass for 10 league games is $25.

Sunday marks the season debut for the St. Albert Impact women’s teams in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

In the premier division, Impact 1 plays Angels Scottish SC 2 at noon and Impact premier is up against Angels Scottish SC 3 at 2 p.m. at the ESA Complex.

Impact/Inter SC also kicks into action Sunday against Hearts United at 2 p.m. at Rollie Miles Athletic Grounds.

The division 1A Impact starts league play Monday against the Edmonton Warriors at 7 p.m. at W.P. Wagner High School.

The St. Albert Rangers are good to go Monday in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. against E & C United at the ESA South Complex.

The Rangers have no home matches scheduled at Riel Park this season.

The Bellerose Bulldogs, Paul Kane Blues and Sturgeon Spirits ruck and maul next week in metro Edmonton high school women’s rugby.

Monday the Bulldogs (1-1) tackle the Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds in division one at Airways Park and Sturgeon scrums down against the Beaumont Bandits (0-1) in division two at Leduc.

Tuesday the Blues battle the Harry Ainlay Titans in division two at Ellerslie Rugby Park.

Kickoff times are 4:45 p.m.
