Weather permitting, the Sturgeon Valley Golf & County Club will open for the season next week, Wednesday or Thursday, on 16 of the 18 permanent greens.
The other two holes, No. 10 and 18, are part of the SVGCC's redevelopment plan and have been totally rebuilt. Work started late last fall and there is still some final shaping to do on No. 10. Both holes will be ready for the putting green sod in early May.
The club's driving range opened Monday.

The Gareth Jones Cup match between the Blues and the Bellerose Bulldogs is May 3 at 4:45 p.m. at St. Albert Rugby Football Club.
Last year the Bulldogs, division two semifinalists, beat the Blues 20-7.
League play starts April 27 for the Bulldogs against Facey at 4:45 p.m. at SARFC.
Canadian Wrestling's Elite is back in St. Albert for the third time in eight months April 23.
The headliner is Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff, best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and bell time is 7 p.m. at the St. Albert Community Hall.

The inaugural season of Challengers Baseball starts May 6 at Legion Memorial Park.
Hosted by the St. Albert Minor Baseball Association, the program's objective is to provide opportunities to males and females four to 18 years old with cognitive or physical disabilities to enjoy the benefits of playing baseball.
The season runs every Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. until the end of June.
