The majority of the players are St. Albert Minor Hockey Association alumni.

The last four years, players and corporate support for the Donnie MAC Cup raised more than $50,000 for Lung Cancer Canada.

This year’s focus is the St. Albert Food Bank and donations of money and non-perishable food items will be accepted from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Akinsdale rink entrance.

The Donnie MAC Cup honours the memory of Don MacMillan, a St. Albert resident who died of lung cancer in 2011 at age 61, as well as others affected by the disease.

Sunday’s junior B tier I exhibition between the Crude Lacrosse Club of St. Albert and the Edmonton Warriors goes at 5 p.m. at Tipton Arena.

The 20-game regular season in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League starts April 30 for the Crude against the Calgary Shamrocks at 8 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

Last year the Crude finished fifth in the north division at 3-17 (142 GF/266 GA).

The 54th annual Edmonton and area Tournament of Champions is underway for the President’s Cup playoff winners at the St. Albert Curling Club.

Rinks skipped by Dale Briske (men), Warren Sadoway (mixed) and Lauren Jenkyns (women) are competing in the double-knockout championship at Ellerslie.

Tuesday’s semifinals and Wednesday’s finals start at 6 p.m.
