Monday the Bears and St. Albert Elite Sportswear Blues face-off at 6:45 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

The Blues (18-4-3) skate into tonight’s road game against the Camrose Bulldogs (8-13-3) one point back of the Bears in the Red division.

The Blues and Comets have a Feb. 23 date at 7 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

The White division Sturgeon Sting (21-3-1) in the Rural conference is first overall in the 29-team circuit.

In league scoring, Brady Harroun and Brooks Robinson of the bears are tied for third with 46 points apiece and Evan Arnold of the Blues shares fifth place with 42 points.

Palmer Strang leads the Blues division Comets in scoring with 28 points.

The playoff series between the St. Albert Merchants and Stony Plain Flyers in the Capital Junior B Hockey League resumes Sunday at Glenn Hall Centennial Arena.

Game three, if needed, is 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Akinsdale Arena.

The winner advances to the best-of-five quarter-finals against the Morinville Jets (27-7-4) or the defending Founders Cup playoff champion North Edmonton Red Wings (25-8-4).

The Merchants (18-16-4, 147 GF/173 GA) and Flyers (17-18-3, 144 GF/179 GA) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the west standings.

In league play, the Flyers beat the Merchants three times by scores of 4-2, 4-3 in overtime and 9-5 after losing the first meeting 4-1.

The No. 1 team in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League skates twice this weekend against teams with winning records.

The midget 15 Flyers (29-1-1, 180 GF/42 GA) visit the PAC Saints (21-8) today at 2:45 p.m. at Glenn Hall Centennial Arena and Sunday the north division leaders host the KC Centennials (19-9-2) at 3:45 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

Captain Blake Sydlowski is the league’s top scorer with 66 points and Stuart Dovey is tied for third in goals with 29.

The Flyers have four games remaining before the Sutter North Cup provincial qualifier starts March 9.
