The puck drops today at 8:15 a.m. at the sixth annual St. Albert Winter Classic Tournament at Servus Credit Union Place.
The 49-game tournament features six novice 1 and six novice 2 development league teams and eight atom development league teams.
Monday’s finals at Go Auto Arena start at 3 p.m. for novice 1, 4:30 p.m. for novice 2 and 6 p.m. for the atoms.

The annual Polar Cup tournament kicks off today at the east, west and south Edmonton Soccer Centre locations.
Five teams are representing the St. Albert Soccer Association: U18 Tier 5 boys (Kitching), U10 Tier 1 Impact girls, U12 Tier 2 Impact girls, U14 Tier 3 Impact girls (Murray) and U16 Tier 5 girls (Villeneuve).
The Polar Cup, hosted by the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association, is one of the largest indoor youth soccer tournaments in Canada with more than 300 teams from across western Canada participating.

The 35th annual Edmonton Invitational Tournament of Champions starts today for the bantam AA Bears and bantam AAA Sabres at Callingwood Recreation Centre.
The Bears play CAC Real Estate Weekly at 10:15 a.m. in the gold division and Sabres face-off against the KC Squires at 5:15 p.m. in the green division.
The Bears also have games against the KC Shamrocks at 3 p.m. Sunday, PAC Stony Plain Predators at 12:30 p.m. Monday and SSAC Alberta Sportswear at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The Sabres skate Sunday against the SSAC Southgate Lions at 5:15 p.m. and Monday against the Lethbridge Golden Hawks at 7:45 p.m.
The bantam AA and AAA finals are Wednesday.
The tournament features 12 bantam AA teams and eight bantam AAA teams.

The Bears are 16-2-1 as the top metro red division team in the Edmonton Rural Bantam AA Hockey League and the Sabres are 11-8-4 for third place in the nitro north division in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League.
The St. Albert Merchants resume play in the Capital Junior B Hockey League on Jan. 4 against the Edmonton Mustangs.
Game time is 8 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.
The Money Men entered the Christmas break ranked first overall at 22-5 as winners of nine in a row, including three by shutouts. Their home record is 12-1.
