The St. Albert players on Team Alberta are twins Kate and Lauren Henderson of the belle AA Mission and Janelle Wilk of the belle AA Edmonton Elite.

The Canada Winter Games start Feb. 13 in Prince George, B.C.

The St. Albert Gregg Distributors Sabres host the Grande Prairie Storm today in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League.

Faceoff is 3:45 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

The Sabres (11-7-3) are third in the nitro north division and the Storm (6-13-2) are near the bottom of the charger north standings.

Sunday the Sabres play the Flyers (16-3-3) in Sherwood Park at 11:30 a.m.

The Sabres are 2-3 in their last five games after losing 4-1 to the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers (12-3-5) on the road last weekend.

During the Christmas break the Sabres are competing at the 35th annual Edmonton Bantam Invitational at Callingwood Recreation Centre.

Sunday’s inaugural Slash Alumni Event features past and present players from the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League team.

Faceoff is 1:20 p.m. between Team Blue and Team Gold at Go Auto Arena.

The Slash teams are comprised of former and current players.

The alumni confirmed for the game include Danielle Baxter, Erin Blake, Lindsay Cox, Sabrina Flemming, Karly Heffernan, Jessica Kampjes, Julie Koochin, Melissa Kueber, Haley Kuzyk, Angie Mason, Jen Matichuk, Emily Mitchell, Jenny Myers, Autumn Rae, Janelle Reiter (Reid), Larissa Roche, Jeannie Sabourin, Jayden Skoye, Matana Skoye, Eliza Snider, Raelene Sydor, Jody Sydor, Michelle Tassone and Maggie Tkachuk.

Former head coach Terry Sydor is the Team Blue bench boss and current head coach Phil Webb is in charge of Team Gold.

Two atom C teams will also scrimmage between the first and second periods.

Admission is free and proceeds from the 50/50 draw will go to the St. Albert Food Bank.

Meanwhile the last game for the Slash before the Mac’s tournament in Calgary is today in Red Deer at 5 p.m. against the Chiefs (15-4-4), the host team for the 2015 Esso Cup nationals.

Friday the Slash (12-7-5) hosted the Spruce Grove PAC Saints (10-10-2) but the score was unavailable at pres time.

The Slash are 2-2-1 in their last five games.
