The 16th annual Turkey Ring tournament is the main event this weekend in St. Albert sports.
The 71-team, 132-game competition is hosted by the St. Albert Ringette Association. SARA is represented by 21 teams.
Medals will be awarded in 13 divisions: U10 novice 1, 2 and 3, U12 petite A, B and C, U14 tween A, B and AA, U16 junior A and B and U19 belle A and B.
Games are scheduled for the Go Auto, Mark Messier, Troy Murray, Akinsdale, Kinex, River Qui Barre and Canadian Athletic Club arenas.

Last year’s tournament featured a record 78 teams, including 27 from SARA, in 14 divisions.
The second-last week in the Capital District Minor Football Association regular season kicks off this weekend for all six St. Albert teams and five games are scheduled for Riel Recreation Park.
Today the atom Tier 3/4 Vikings (1-4) host the Edmonton Seahawks (1-3-1) at 10:30 a.m., followed by the bantam 3/4 49ers (4-1) against the Seahawks (1-4) at 12:30 p.m.
The peewee Tier 1/2 Riders (3-2) tackle the Stony Plain Bombers (3-2) at 3 p.m. at Fuhr Sports Park.
Sunday’s tripleheader at the Riel turf field starts at 10:30 a.m. between the atom Tier 3/4 Buccaneers (4-1) and the Fort Saskatchewan Storm (2-2-1).
The bantam Tier 3/4 Fury (5-0) huddle up against the Fort Saskatchewan Lightning (3-2) at 12:30 p.m.
At 3 p.m. the peewee Tier 1/2 Colts (1-4) line up against the Sherwood Park Raiders (1-4).
The Lions Western Canadian Challenge serves up its 20th annual high school volleyball tournament Thursday at 1 p.m. in St. Albert and Morinville.
The venues for the 198-match draw are the St. Albert Catholic and Morinville Community high schools, the Vincent J. Maloney and Richard S. Fowler schools in St. Albert and the Georges H. Primeau and Notre Dame schools in Morinville.
Twenty-four men’s and 24 women’s teams will compete for medals. Local teams are the St. Albert Skyhawks and Morinville Wolves, the tournament hosts.
Tournaments of equal size in Canada include the Super Mega Volleyball at Maidstone, Sask., Big Spike at Shaftesbury High School in Winnipeg and the Panther Invitational at Spruce Grove.
The Barrhead Gryphons and the Beaverlodge Lady Royals are the defending champions.
