The draw features 56 best-of-three matches, with 16 boys' and 16 girls' teams divided into four round robin pools.
Meanwhile league play for SAPEC teams starts Oct. 7. Last year's Tier 1 city champions were the VJM Marauders (SAPEC record 13th for girls was the team's first city banner since 2009) and the Lorne Akins Gators (SAPEC record 14th for boys was the team's first city banner since 2010). The Sir George Simpson Voyageurs were the girls' and boys' finalists after winning the 2012 championships.
The Tier 1 finals are Nov. 13 at Bellerose Composite High School.
