Midget AAA
The St. Albert Cardinals play host to the Sherwood Park Dukes Wednesday night at Legion Memorial Field. The pitches start flying at 7 p.m.
The Cardinals are first in the division with 21 wins and four losses in the NorWest League. They’ve won eight of their last 10 games and will be looking to bring that consistency into provincials.
Wednesday night’s game is the second last Cardinals game before provincials.
The Cardinals played in Spruce Grove against the White Sox on Tuesday night, but scores were not available at press time.
Bantam AAA
The St. Albert Cardinals take on the Edmonton Cardinals Wednesday night in some head to head Red Bird action. The game starts at Goldstick field at 7 p.m.
The St. Albert Cardinals have had an up and down season this year but remain above .500 with 22 wins and 16 losses over 38 games.
They’ll be looking for some consistency against the Edmonton Cardinals Wednesday night.
The two teams last met Tuesday at Empire Park but the score was not available at press time.
Men’s premier
First place St. Albert Impact take on the struggling KC Trojans Thursday night on Riel turf field. The ball drops at 8:30 p.m.
The Impact have gone undefeated in two and a half months and have not lost a game since the Juventus Scona match on May 1.
They’ll be looking to keep their streak alive and repeat last week’s success against the St. Albert Impact Rangers.
The Impact beat the Rangers 1-0 last week at Riel and looked great.
Div. 1B
The second place St. Albert Impact meet the Southwest United Men Wednesday night at the ESA Complex. Whichever team wins will move up to first in the division.
The game starts at 6:30 p.m.
The St. Albert Impact dominated the Modena FC 5-1 last time they were on the field.
Alan Smith picked up a pair of goals for the team and Mark McQuaid, Jake McGlame and Mohammed Sari netted the other three.
McQuaid has the second most goals in the division with 13 on the season.
Alberta Football League
Come out to Riel field Saturday and cheer on your St. Albert Stars as they take on the Grande Prairie Drillers. Kick off is planned for 2 p.m.
The St. Albert Stars met the Lloydminster Vandals Saturday night and stomped them into the grass for a final score of 35-14.
The Stars ran up the score 21-0 in the first half before the Vandals managed to get anything going their way.
Terrence Williams scored a touchdown on a punt return early and picked up another score late with a pass from Troy Pappas.
The Stars are back in town for the first time since June 14.
A three game road trip saw the team visit Calgary, Fort McMurray, and Lloydminster for most of June and July.
