Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Ellerslie the women’s team scrums down against the Rockers in the Edmonton Rugby Union spring league fixtures.

Both teams finished 1-7 in the division two table last year.

Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. SARFC is hosting a junior camp for elementary, junior high and high school males and females at Riel Recreation Park.

Instruction will be provided by SARFC coaches and senior players.

SARFC boosts the largest junior program in Alberta with age divisions from U5 to U19.

The bantam AAA St. Albert Cardinals make their season debut during Saturday’s doubleheader at Legion Memorial Park.

Game times are 11 a.m. against Okotoks Dawgs Red and 5 p.m. against the Fort McMurray Oil Giants.

Sunday the Cardinals visit Okotoks Dawgs Red.

The next home game is May 16 against SEEBA at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Albert Early Bird tournament.

This weekend the St. Albert Crude have home-floor advantage in their season opener in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.

The junior B Tier 1 team hosts the Red Deer Rampage (0-1) tonight at 6 p.m. and the Okotoks Marauders at 2 p.m. Sunday at Akinsdale Arena.

Last year the Crude finished first in the north at 14-5-1 and lost the best-of-five provincial final in three games to the Calgary Mountaineers.

The St. Albert Tennis Club is accepting membership registrations this weekend at its Mission courts facility.

Times are 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today during the club’s annual cleanup day and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Lesson registrations will also take place Sunday.

The first tournament of the season is doubles on May 24.

The first game of the season for the senior B St. Albert Miners is Sunday versus the Okotoks Raiders in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.

Start time is 2 p.m. at Northstar Hyundai Arena.

Last year marked the first time the Miners failed to reach the provincial final after championship victories in 2010 and 2011 and a second-place finish in 2012.

The junior A Miners play their first game Wednesday against the Sherwood Park Titans at 8 p.m. at Northstar Arena.

Last year the junior Miners finished last in the four-team standings at 2-13-1.
