Thursday the St. Albert Impact premier men’s team kicks the ball against AS Roma in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Game time is 8:30 p.m. at Riel Recreation Park.

The Impact are second in the premier table at 3-1-2, two points behind both Roma and AC Milan at 4-1-1.

Haris Kevac is the Impact’s top scorer with a league-high six goals.

Next Thursday the Impact plays Milan at 8:30 p.m. in St. Albert.

The 17th annual Fastball St. Albert Invitational Tournament starts Friday night at the Meadowview and Henry Singer diamonds.

The 86-game schedule features 39 female teams from Alberta and Saskatoon in the U10, U12 A, U12 B, U14 A, U14 B, U16 A, U16 B and U18 divisions.

The host St. Albert Angels are represented by eight teams.

Sunday’s finals are 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.

The 127-game schedule starts at 4:30 p.m. Friday and ends with the finals late Sunday afternoon

Divisions of competition include mini-tyke, tyke and male and female novice, peewee, bantam and midget. The age range is five to 17.

The final registration total for the 23rd annual St. Albert Kids of Steel Triathlon is 322 males and females and five teams for Sunday’s event at Fountain Park Recreation Centre.

The competition features youths four to 19 years old on a swim-bike-run course that varies in distance according to age group. The largest age group is U7.

Seven junior elite (16 to 19) and six U23 triathletes are also entered.

The Kids of Steel is also the 2014 Alberta Summer Games qualifier for Zone 5 (Black Gold/Yellowhead), Zone 6 (Edmonton) and Zone 8 (Peace Country).
