Online registration for the WildOnes MaraFun program for youths four to 12 years old will begin around February.

Since 2011, RunWild has averaged 1,850 runners per year, including 670 youths and 17 schools involved in the 2016 MaraFun.

Students complete the last 1.6 km of their own 42-km marathon, which started at their schools by running or walking one km at a time after spring break leading up to RunWild.

Schools interested in the MaraFun event can contact [email protected].

RunWild has also raised more than $365,000 for two charities: Zebra Child Protection Centre and St. Albert Seniors Association.

The 2016 RunWild was restricted to the MaraFun because of the temporary loss of the race headquarters at the St. Albert 50 + Club and construction at the start/finish staging areas that affected the logistics of the race routes.
