The third annual Slash Alumni Event will bring together past and present players and coaches of the St. Albert midget AAA female hockey team Dec. 19 at Go Auto Arena.
At 6:45 p.m. the alumni and Slash players will mentor peewee females during a drills and skills session, followed by a short scrimmage for the younger skaters.
The alumni game between Team Blue and Team Gold starts at 8 p.m.
The post-game social is scheduled for the Skybox Grill at Servus Credit Union Place.
Last year’s event spanned players from the first 2004/05 Slash team to the 2015/16 roster in the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League.
The current Slash team is competing in the inaugural Alberta Female Hockey League and is 13-0.
The motto for the reunion is Tradition Never Graduates.

The Reid scholarship was established by the parent group of the 2004/05 Sabres in memory of the respected coach and mentor of St. Albert youths in hockey and lacrosse.
Reid was a high-scoring forward with the St. Albert Saints and Sherwood Park Crusaders in the Alberta Junior Hockey League and the Alberta Golden Bears.
Reid died of leukemia at age 41 on Nov. 6, 2003 and the next year the St. Albert bantam AAA tournament was renamed in his honour.
The John Reid Memorial Tournament Society is also accepting donations to the scholarship fund.
The 39th annual tournament is Jan. 19 to 22 at Servus Credit Union Place.
