The host committee for the Jiffy Lube Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts will close the volunteer call Monday for the provincial women’s championship Jan. 25 to 29 at the St. Albert Curling Club.
Volunteer positions include hospitality, operations, beverage services, food services, banquet/pageantry and finance/administration.

Selected individuals will be invited to the Nov. 8 volunteer kick-off, 7 to 9 p.m. at the curling club, where uniform sizing and accreditation activities will be conducted. A $25 volunteer fee will also be collected.
The Alberta Scotties will feature 12 rinks and the winner advances to the Canadian Scotties, Feb. 18 to 26 at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ont.
The last Alberta Scotties in St. Albert was 1984 and the winner was Connie Bennet of Calgary.

Senior division one pool B women: St. Albert Skyhawks 5-1, Paul Kane Blues 2-2.
Senior division two women: Sturgeon Spirits 3-2.
Senior division three women: Bellerose Bulldogs 7-2.
Junior division one women: Skyhawks 4-3.
Junior division two women: Paul Kane 4-3, Bellerose 1-6.
Junior division three women: Sturgeon 7-0.
Senior division two pool A men: Paul Kane 6-1, Bellerose 4-2, Skyhawks 2-4.

The St. Albert Physical Education Council junior high volleyball teams have three matches remaining before the playoffs start Nov. 7 for the boys and Nov. 8 for the girls.
The SAPEC Tier I city finals are Nov. 17 at Bellerose Composite High School.
The division leaders before Tuesday’s matches were the 4-0 Lorne Akins Gators (12 GW/2 GL) for the boys and the Sir George Simpson Voyageurs (12 GW/3 GL) and Vincent J. Maloney Marauders (12 GW/2 GL) for the girls at 4-0.
The lady Voyageurs and Marauders, last year’s SAPEC champions, close out league play Nov. 3 at VJM.
