The St. Albert EWI women’s squad has a chance to extend their hot streak against the Clanswomen this week. The second place home team has won their last three games and are hoping to pick up their fourth win against the third place Clanswomen. The St. Albert team (4-1-0) will be meeting the Clanswomen (3-3-0) for the second time this season, with the last result a 31-19 final triumph for the home team. The teams take the pitch on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Airways Park-Clan Clubhouse.
The St. Albert E3 men’s team is taking the field for the first time since their blowout win against the Penguins July 9. The home team defeated the Cold Lake Penguins with a final score of 75-8. The eighth place St. Albert Thirds (2-5-0) will be tackling the tenth place Strathcona Druids (2-5-0) this week in the two teams first and only meeting of the season. The teams face off on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Strathcona Druids Rugby Park.
Following the faceoff between the Thirds and the Druids, the St. Albert Firsts will take the pitch against the Druids club. The second place St. Albert club (5-1-0) will be able to earn their fifth win in a row against the fifth place Druids (2-2-1). The action will take place at Lynn Davis Rugby Park in Sherwood Park on Friday July 22 at 7 p.m.
The St. Albert Impact men’s premiere team is facing off this week against the Croatia Dinamo. The teams are close in the standings with St. Albert (7-5-1) in second place with 22 points and the Dinamo (5-2-6) following closely in third place with 21 points. This is the second meeting of the two teams this season with St. Albert dominating the first game for a final score of 7-1. The Impact have lost their last two games and will be hoping to rebound with a win on July 28 at 7 p.m. at Riel Recreation Park.
The St. Albert Tigers are tackling the Confederation Park Cubs this week. The third place Tigers (5-10-0) are taking on the fourth place Cubs (4-9-0) in their third meeting of the season. The first two meetings resulted in a win each. The Tigers will have to rally after a 2-19 blowout loss against the Red Deer Riggers if they want to beat the Cubs. The first pitch is thrown tonight at 7 p.m. at Legion Memorial Ball Park.
