The St. Albert Junior Cardinals host the Westlock Red Lions tonight in the North Central Alberta Baseball League.
First pitch is 7:15 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
The Cardinals are 2-6 and the defending NCABL champion Red Lions are 7-2 in the 10-team senior AA circuit.
Last week the Cardinals won 7-1 over the Camrose Axemen (4-4) and lost 10-3 to the Sherwood Park Athletics (2-3).
The St. Albert Impact division 1B men’s and women’s teams kick into action tonight in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.
The Impact men (2-4) play The Club (1-1-4) at 7 p.m. at Riel Park and the Impact women (4-2-3) line up against ASC Inter (1-3-5) at 6:30 p.m. at the ESA Complex.
Thursday the first-place Impact division 2A women (8-1) are in Sherwood Park for a match with Dreadnought (4-4) at 7 p.m.
The St. Albert Cardinals are winless in three Norwest Midget AAA Baseball League games when they visit SEEBA 2 tonight at John Fry Park.
Start time is 7 p.m. between the Cardinals (12-3) and SEEBA 2 (2-16).
Thursday the Cardinals host the Sherwood Park Athletics (10-11) at 8 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park.
Last year’s silver medallists at the Tier 1 provincial and U18 Western Canada championships are 18-10-2 overall after going 1-3 at the 12th annual Peter Devries Invitational Tournament last weekend in Edmonton.
Fight of the Fittest, hosted by Saint City CrossFit, starts 6 p.m. Friday at Servus Credit Union Place.
Approximately 200 athletes from across Western Canada will compete in a number of fitness challenges.
Saturday’s events begin at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Sunday’s times are 8:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., followed by the awards presentations at 3:45 p.m.

The Cardinals (5-3) and Red Lions (4-3) play ball at 7 p.m. at Keller Field.
The third win of the season for the Cardinals was 4-3 against the Red Lions in St. Albert.
Last year the Cardinals were presented the Lloyd Marklinger Memorial Trophy after beating the first-place Lions in the deciding game in the best-of-three AWCBA final. The Cardinals finished 14-7-1 in league and playoffs combined.
