The St. Albert Rugby Football Club’s premier men and first division women are rucking and mauling at two locations today.
Kickoff times are 3:30 p.m. against the Clan at SARFC in the Alberta Cup men’s fixtures and 4 p.m. against Crude/West at Ellerslie Rugby Park in the Edmonton Rugby Union.
The first 15, the Labatt’s Cup provincial champions the last two years, are 1-1 and the Clan are 2-0.
The firsts are winners of six in a row against the Clan after losing the 2013 season opener against their notorious rivals.
The SARFC women are 1-1 and Crude/West is 0-2.
Last month SARFC defeated Crude/West 29-25.
Meanwhile, SARFC hosts Wednesday’s U23 exhibition between the ERU Gold and the Lonestar Conference All-Stars at 7 p.m.
The All-Stars are a touring team of players from the 16-team university Lonestar Conference in Texas.
A number of SARFC players are expected to play for the Gold.
The annual Jeremy Richardson Memorial Baggataway Tournament is underway at Servus Credit Union Place and the Akinsdale and Kinex arenas.
Sunday’s finals in the 64-team draw are 2 p.m. for bantam girls, 2:45 p.m. for peewee girls, 3 p.m. for novice girls, 3:45 p.m. for novice boys, 4 p.m. for peewee boys, 5 p.m. for midget girls, 5:30 p.m. for bantam boys and midget boys, 5:45 p.m. for peewee C and 6:30 p.m. for bantam C.
The host St. Albert Rams Lacrosse Club is represented by 10 teams in seven of the 10 tournament divisions.

Rain or shine, the St. Albert Soccer Association hosts its Timbits Jamboree and Ombrelle Active Start Soccer Fest season windups this weekend at Riel Park.
The U4, U5 and U6 jamboree goes today from 9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and Sunday’s U8 soccer fest is 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Weather permitting, the St. Albert Tigers are competing in the Sunburst Baseball League tournament this weekend at Henry Singer Park in Spruce Grove.
The senior AAA Tigers play the Parkland White Sox (0-5) tonight at 7 p.m. and Sunday against the Red Deer Riggers (4-0) at 10 a.m. and Confederation Park Cubs (1-2) at 1 p.m.
The Tigers hosted the Sherwood Park A’s (4-2) in Friday’s tournament opener but the score was unavailable at press time.
