The St. Albert Mission belles skate twice this weekend in U19AA ringette.
Tonight the Mission plays the U of A alumni at the Enoch Rec Centre and Sunday’s game against the Edmonton Elite is at Akinsdale Arena. Start times are 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the St. Albert U19A belles, U16A juniors and U14A tweens are competing at the Michelle Vandale Memorial Spirit of Winter Tournament, hosted by the Fraser Valley Ringette Association this weekend.
The St. Albert Royals host the PAC Saints Sunday in the Rural & Edmonton Midget 15 AA Hockey League.
Faceoff is 8 p.m. at Mark Messier Arena.
The fifth-place Royals (4-5-4) trailed the Saints (6-7-2) by two points before Friday’s game against the third-place SSAC Dolce Vita Homes (9-3-1) at The Meadows Arena. The score was unavailable at press time.
The Royals recorded one point in their last three games while going 3-3-2 in November. The team’s home record is 2-2-2.
Brett Price is the team’s top scorer with six goals and 11 points after 13 games.
Adam Jereniuk and Darrien Wesley each had 10 points and Brett Leibel ranked second in goals with five.
Last season, the Royals finished first overall at 23-4-3 and lost the best-of-five final in four games to third-place SSAC.
Metro Edmonton high school basketball tips off Monday at 5 p.m. for the Bellerose Bulldogs, Paul Kane Blues and St. Albert Skyhawks.
In division one women, the Skyhawks, the 2015 league finalists, host the Bev Facey Falcons and the Blues visit the Spruce Grove Panthers.
In division two men, the Bulldogs entertain the Jasper Place Rebels and the Blues travel to play the St. Francis Xavier Rams.
In division two, the lady Bulldogs hoop it up in pool B against St. Peter The Apostle Spartans at Bellerose at 5 p.m. Tuesday and the Skyhawks are in Spruce Grove to play the Spartans in pool B men’s action.
Meanwhile, both Paul Kane teams and the lady Skyhawks are competing at the 23rd annual Totem Hoop Classic at Ross Sheppard High School.
Today’s medal-round games are 1 p.m. (women’s third place), 3 p.m. (men’s third place), 5 p.m. (women’s final) and 7 p.m. (men’s final).
