The women’s artistic invitational meet for Junior Olympic Levels 3 to 7 features more than 70 gymnasts from eight clubs.

The competition times are 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for the JO3/JO4 session, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the JO6 (ages nine to 11) JO7 session and 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the JO6 (ages 12 to 15) JO5 session.

The St. Albert Slash face-off against the Lloydminster Steelers tonight in the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League.

Game time is 6:15 p.m. at Go Auto Arena.

The Slash (6-10-5) are ranked sixth and the Steelers (6-10-2) are eighth in the nine-team standings.

The last game for the Slash was 3-0 over the Steelers on Dec. 29 to finish 1-3 at the Mac’s midget tournament in Calgary.

The St. Albert Merchants host the Beverly Warriors in the Capital Junior B Hockey League Sunday.

Puck drop is 8 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

The Merchants (16-10-2) trailed the third-place Warriors (17-9-3) by three points in the west division before Friday’s game against the Morinville Jets (12-15-1) in St. Albert. The score was unavailable at press time.

The St. Albert Flyers have two games in three days scheduled in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.

The Flyers (11-6-3) are in Fort Saskatchewan to play the Rangers (1-21-1) Sunday at 1:15 p.m. at JRC Arena and Tuesday they host the Maple Leafs (4-14-2) at 8:15 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

Five players will represent the St. Albert Royals at the Rural & Edmonton Midget 15 AA Hockey League all-star game Sunday.

The home all-star roster consists of defenceman Shoya Lavoie, forwards’ Noah Fayad, Brett Leibel and Riley Szo and netminder Michael Davis.

Game time is 1:30 p.m. at Confederation Arena.

Meanwhile, the Royals were 5-8-5 for sixth place in league play before Thursday’s game against the MLAC Alumni Leafs (1-14-3) in St. Albert. The score was unavailable at press time.

The Royals continue their four-game homestand Tuesday against the second-place SSAC Dolce Vita Homes (14-3-4) at 8:30 p.m. at Mark Messier Arena and Wednesday against the first-place SSAC Southgate Lions Mustangs (15-2-2) at 8:15 p.m. at Go Auto Arena.
