The St. Albert Tigers AAA baseball club will host the 32nd Annual Tigers’ Tournament this weekend.
Fans will get the chance to see not one, but two local teams on the diamond, as both the Tigers and the Midget AAA Cardinals will be vying for the gold.
They’ll be joined by the Fort Saskatchewan A’s, the Confederation Park Cubs and the Parkland Sox at the West diamond in Legion Memorial Park.
The Tigers have games scheduled for Friday at 9 p.m., Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., and on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Cardinals’ games are set for 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, with the gold-medal match at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Fans can see both teams in action at the same time when they go head-to-head at 2 p.m. Sunday, just before the final.
The St. Albert Midget AAA Cardinals are hosting the SEEBA 1 Cardinals tonight, July 8, at the Legion Memorial Park Midget Diamond in the Midget AAA Norwest League.
The Cardinals will look to extend their winning streak to four, having overcome the Okotoks Dawgs Black, the Grande Prairie Reds and the Spruce Grove White Sox in their last three regular-season matches.
The match against the 11th-place SEEBA 1 promises to be a competitive one for the ninth-place Cardinals – the two teams are separated by just one win.
The first pitch will be thrown at 7 p.m.
The St. Albert Impact premier men will head south of the border to the Edmonton Soccer Association fields this Thursday evening to face AC Milan.
The two teams are neck-and-neck in the Edmonton District Soccer Association’s United Cycle Premier league, with the Impact’s 6-0-5 record yielding 18 points and fourth place while AC Milan’s 4-3-3 record puts them in fifth place with 15 points.
The match begins July 9 at 8:15 p.m. at the ESA fields located just south of St. Albert at 174 Street and 106a Avenue in Edmonton.
The Senior B Miners are looking for a relatively easy win in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League against the Warriors in Edmonton this Friday night.
The Miners have a firm hold on second place with an 8-2 record, while the 1-9 Warriors are struggling in last place.
Faceoff is at 8:30 p.m. at Bill Hunter Arena.
