It’s a long trip to St. Albert from Winnipeg, and the Junior B Tier 1 Crude hope to send their opponents home empty handed.

The second of two games between the local Crude and the Manitoba Blizzard will take place at 12:30 p.m. today at the Akinsdale Arena.

The Crude are currently struggling in the north division in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League, with a 6-9 record so far this season compared to the Blizzard’s 10-6 – but that may not mean much as the two teams have yet to face each other this season.

The AAA Senior St. Albert Tigers will host the Sherwood Park Athletics July 7 at Legion Memorial Park.

The competition has been tight so far this year in the Sunburst Baseball League, with just four wins separating the first-place Athletics from the last-place Parkland White Sox.

With a record of 7-7 as of press time, the Tigers are tied for second place with three other teams.

While they’re a step less competitive than their AAA counterparts, the AA St. Albert Cardinals continue their pursuit of the North Central Alberta Baseball League this Tuesday against the Camrose Axemen.

The Cardinals are in tough this season, with a basement record of 2-9 compared to the first-place Axemen’s 8-2, but there’s still time this season to turn things around.
