The puck drops Monday for the St. Albert teams at the 34th annual Mac’s hockey tournament in Calgary.

Midget AAA Raiders
The Raiders play the following games in the 25-team draw:
Monday vs. Vancouver NE Chiefs, 3:30 p.m. at Flames Community Arenas.
Tuesday vs. Saskatoon Contacts, 2:30 p.m. at Father David Bauer Arena.
Wednesday vs. Calgary Royals, 5:15 p.m. at Father David Bauer Arena.
Thursday vs. Valley West (B.C.) Hawks, 9 a.m. Max Bell Arena.
The quarter-finals and semifinals are Dec. 31 and the final is Jan. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Saddledome.
Last year the Raiders finished 2-2 in pool play after going 0-3-1 the previous year.
The Raiders skate into the Mac’s with a 17-6-2 record for second place in the north division of the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League.
The next league game is Jan. 7 against the KC Pats at 7:45 p.m. at Bill Hunter Arena.
Midget AAA Slash
The Slash have the following games scheduled at Max Bell Arena in the 15-team female draw:
Monday vs. Medicine Hat Tigers, 9 a.m.
Wednesday vs. Prince Albert Bears, 3:30 p.m.
Thursday vs. Thompson-Okanagan Rockets, 10:30 a.m.
Friday vs. Calgary Flyers, 6 p.m.
The semifinals are Dec. 31 and the final is Jan. 1 at 2 p.m. at Max Bell Arena.
Last year the Slash placed second in their pool at 3-1 as the defending champions.
The Slash are ranked second at 13-5-4 in the north division of the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League.
League play resumes Jan. 14 against the Spruce Grove Saints at 11:30 a.m. at Grant Fuhr Arena.
The annual St. Albert Christmas Tournament for novice and atom teams hits the ice Tuesday morning at Servus Credit Union Place.
Competing in the novice 1 division are the Havoc, Ice Devils, Saints, Hawks, Spitfires and NC1501.
The novice 2 division consists of the Cobras, Devastators, Comets, Chargers, Sharp Shooters and Scorpions.
The atom draw features the Thunder, Sting, Strike Force, Lightning, Vipers, Blades, Hitmen, Stealth, Saints, Chargers, Sturgeon and Morinville.
Thursday’s finals at Performance Arena are 4:15 p.m. for novice 1, 5:45 p.m. for novice 2 and 7:15 p.m. for the atoms.

The St. Albert Hammerheads host a peewee team from Homer, Alaska in Wednesday’s exhibition at Troy Murray Arena. Game time is 8:15 a.m.
The Alaskans have games lined up against peewee teams in and around the Edmonton area during the Christmas break.
