The St. Albert Flyers play their last game before the Christmas break tonight in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.
Puck drop is 7:45 p.m. against the Maple Leafs (7-6-6) at Akinsdale Arena.
The Flyers (11-5-4) are winless in four games after losing 5-4 to the Leduc Oil Kings (12-6-1) Saturday in Leduc. The Flyers were outscored 3-1 in the third period.
Paul Lovsin led the Flyers with three goals and one assist. The top scorer in the north conference has 18 goals and 36 points in 19 games.
Jake Kohlhauser also scored and J.T. Bartlett made 27 saves. Leduc netminder Nolan Kruizenga faced 50 shots.
Friday marks the last home game of the year for the St. Albert Crusaders in the Northern Alberta Midget AA Hockey League.
Faceoff is 4:30 p.m. against the Slave Lake Thunder (6-11-3) at Akinsdale Arena.
Tuesday the Crusaders (9-9-1) hosted the Barrhead Steelers (15-3-2) but the score was unavailable at press time.
The result was also unavailable from the Tuesday game between the St. Albert Blues (13-3-3) and the Maple Leafs (8-8-4) at Clareview Arena.
The midget AA league consists of 26 teams divided into four divisions. The Crusaders are ranked fifth in the west blue standings. The Blues are the top team in the central red standings. The 2011 playoff finalists and provincial silver medallists extended their undefeated streak to four games after crushing the winless West Yellowhead Rockies 15-2 Sunday in Hinton.
The Mac’s midget AAA hockey tournament in Calgary starts Monday for St. Albert’s medal hopefuls.
The opening game for the female Slash is 9 a.m. against the Medicine Hat Tigers at Max Bell Arena. Both teams are in the same pool as the Prince Albert Bears, Thompson-Okanagan Rockets and Calgary Flyers.
At 3:30 p.m. the Raiders play the Vancouver NE Chiefs at Flames Community Arenas. They are pooled together with the Saskatoon Contacts, Calgary Royals and Valley West (B.C.) Hawks.

The annual St. Albert Christmas Tournament starts Tuesday morning at Servus Credit Union Place.
Six novice 1 teams, six novice 2 teams and 12 atom teams will compete for medals.
The finals are Dec. 29 at Performance Arena. Game times are 5:30 p.m. for novice 1, 7 p.m. for novice 2 and 8:30 p.m. for the atoms.
