The Bellerose Bulldogs tip off their metro Edmonton division two regular season today against the St. Peter The Apostle Spartans.
Game times are at 5 p.m. for the women and 6:30 p.m. for the men at Bellerose Composite High School.
Last season the Bellerose men were winless in 11 games in the premier conference and the lady Bulldogs finished 3-8 overall as the division two city finalists.
The midget 15 St. Albert AA Royals are hosting a teddy bear toss on Saturday during the first period against the MLAC Alumni Leafs.
Game time is 2:15 p.m. at Northstar Hyundai Arena.
Greg Symbaluk of Riverside Motorsports will be in attendance to accept the bears for the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Bears can also be donated at Riverside Motorsports or at the St. Albert Minor Hockey Association office from 1 to 5 p.m. this week at Akinsdale Arena.

The Royals are winners of six straight after Friday’s 3-2 decision against the third-place SSAC Southgate Lions Mustangs (11-4-1) in Edmonton.
Gavin Baxter scored once and assisted on goals by Ben Pineau and Braden Doyle.
Brandon Boughen (7-1-1, 2.65 GAA) stopped a game-high 36 shots.
Jackson Aucoin of the Royals is tied for first place in REM scoring with 14 goals and 31 points in 17 games.
Elliot Saive (6-1-1) is the No. 1 REM netminder with a 2.02 GAA.
The St. Albert Sabres close out their December schedule in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League with a pair of home games.
The Sabres (9-8-3) host the Canadian Athletic Club (13-6-1) Saturday at 3:45 p.m. and the Sherwood Park Flyers (12-7-2) Monday at 6:45 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.
In the nitro north division the Sabres trail the third-place Flyers by five points with a game in hand.
The Sabres are coming off a 6-3 win over the fifth-place Maple Leafs (4-15-2) at Castledowns Arena.
Ryan Cooper, Tylor Jans, Matt Kasowski, Landon Bishop, Liam Peyton and Aidan Steinke scored and Jayden Platz and Jack Langenhahn had two assists apiece.
Shots were 31-16 for the Sabres. In net was Chris Curr (2-4-3, 2.92 GAA).
The Sabres are 2-1-1 in December.
