Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and youths 12 and under and they can be purchased at the St. Albert Source for Sports stores and from midget AAA Raiders’ hockey parents.

Tickets will also be available at the door if the event is not sold out. As of Wednesday, about 1,400 tickets were already sold.

Game time is 7:45 p.m.

On Jan. 10, 2010 the Raiders lost 4-2 to Team Canada in front of 2,300 spectators, the largest crowd to ever watch a hockey game at Servus Credit Union Place.

The playoffs are underway at the 19th annual Lions Western Canadian Challenge high school volleyball tournament in St. Albert and Morinville.

Twenty-four men’s and 24 women’s teams are competing for medals today.

Bellerose Composite High School hosts the women’s semifinals at 5:30 p.m., the bronze final at 7 p.m. and the gold-medal match at 8 p.m.

Morinville Community High School is the venue for the men’s semifinals at 5:30 p.m., the bronze final at 7 p.m. and the gold-medal match at 8 p.m.

The consolation finals start at 7 p.m. at St. Albert Catholic High School for the men and Georges H. Primeau School in Morinville for the women.

The International Chang-Ho Taekwon-Do Federation of Canada’s 10th annual World Cup wraps up today at Northstar Hyundai Arena.

The all-colour belt competitions start at 9 a.m., followed by black-belt individual and team sparring.

The two-day international event brought together more than 600 competitors performing individual patterns and sparring at all belt levels.

The St. Albert Flyers make their season debut at home this weekend in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.

The Flyers (2-0-2) play the SSAC Bulldogs (0-3-1) tonight at 8 p.m. and the Grande Prairie Storm (1-2-1) Sunday at 1:15 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

Sunday the St. Albert Sabres skate at home against the Maple Leafs (1-4-1) in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League.

Faceoff is 3:45 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

In the nitro north division the fourth-place Sabres (3-4-1) are five points in front of the fifth-place Maple Leafs (1-5-1).
